Documenting my children in their every day activities is something I need to do more often. I love looking back through these images and seeing them as they really are – totally engrossed in finding ants, breaking sticks, digging in the dirt and being just plain silly. They don’t give me long, as they would prefer if I played “real” games with them instead of chasing them around with a camera in hand.
They are usually the first ones I practice new techniques on. In a few of the images below, I broke away from perfectly sharp and focused images for some slightly whimsical and artistic images with some tilt shift – I love how it turned out! These are the pictures I’ll treasure as our family grows older. The ones that show a little behind the scenes of our lives together.
I am planning on making the most of our next few weeks together. In September, my daughter starts Kindergarten. This mama is having a hard time coming to terms with that. I’m sure I’ll be pulling out pictures of her to look at while she’s away in school. Any other mamas out there sending their littles off to school for the first time? How are you managing with the upcoming transition? I feel my babies are growing up just a little too fast for me. The days are passing us by at whirlwind speed.
